Bainbridge Island Museum of Art
The Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, conveniently located right off the ferry, has free admission thanks to the generous support of the community.
The museum, also known as BIMA, is surrounded by a beautiful outside courtyard and is just steps from various dining options. BIMA holds a collection of mainly contemporary art form a variety of artists from the Puget Sound region.
In addition to their everyday collection, they also have several visiting art exhibits and events.
After you tour the museum, you can take a little break at the BIMA Bistro with delicious locally sourced food ranging from pastries and coffee to salads and sandwiches!
Many times, the museum will have “Meet the Artist” events where you can go and meet the artists and even purchase some of their work and have it personally signed! The BIMA gift shop also has many unique gifts to buy for friends or family.
As a fun little bonus, across the street is the beautiful Waypoint Park. This park is an award-winning garden park just up the street from the ferry! It is a very relaxing place to start any walking-tour on Bainbridge 🙂
